ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Ryan.

I’ve done a lot in my life! I’ve worked a lot of different jobs, and done a lot of things — I’ve created digital marketing strategies for corporations, government agencies and higher education institutions, led SEO and analytics-focused website redesign, delivered pizzas, unloaded semi trucks in 110 degrees, created live graphics for ESPN’s entire family of networks (even the Longhorn Network) and so much more.

I’m dependable, adaptable, and above all, eager to learn! I’m a naturally curious and adventurous person, and I love to learn new things and have new experiences.

Throughout my working life, I’ve accumulated a lot of skills. Working in a TV truck taught me how to be calm and the finer points of thinking on my feet, while unloading semi trucks taught me how to be an effective leader and great communicator. I’ve spent the last 7 years of my life working for athletic departments, and I’ve discovered my love for marketing strategies.

While my main job was creating graphics for live TV, I took as many opportunities as I could to make sure that I spread my wings. I worked closely with VT’s marketing department to plan, produce, and share content to not only social media, but ESPN and other cable networks. Work I’ve created or been involved in has been shown to hundreds of thousands of people and driven tangible results to our teams.

During my time in marketing, I did everything – wrote copy, designed and coded webpages, created strategies, and presented those plans to clients. I worked closely with my coworkers to ensure that every client got every penny of value out of what they paid for, and it showed. Work we did increased site traffic and drove increases in recognition and market share for our clients.

When I’m not at work, I love to be outside. While I was in Virginia, I took as many opportunities as I could to explore Virginia’s Blue Ridge and the highlands of Northern North Carolina. My claim to fame is hiking in every state that touches Virginia, and I’m always looking for that next vista. When I’m not hiking, you can probably find me running or riding my bike – I was raised in a bicycle shop, and it’s one of my most treasured (and expensive!) hobbies. Finally, I love photography and I love aviation (as long as I’m not on the plane), and one of my favorite things to do is sit and take photos of planes.
